Summary All agency staff interact with participants, encouraging them both in social development and in building their work skills. Staff must be able to provide this support in a positive, professional, flexible and respectful manner to the participants, as well as work as a team to maintain the continuity of behavioral goals and work skill programs that ADC offers. This position is responsible for supervising mobile crews, enclaves in the community, volunteer sites and/or the day program. Train any new participants utilizing the task analysis methods established by ADC. Ensure that all participants under their supervision conform to the established personnel policies as adopted by the ADC Board of Directors. Produce work of a quality that is satisfactory to the customers and management of ADC. Essential Duties and Responsibilities It is an essential job function of all ADC personnel to be able to communicate positively, get along with co-workers, deal with colleagues and the community effectively and professionally, and exemplify the agency’s mission, vision and values in their daily activities. Follow any and all policies and/or procedures established by the ADC Board of Directors. Ensure that, if issued a pager from ADC, it is in an area that can be heard and that you can respond to it in a timely manner. Complete the time sheets and building log daily. Complete participant case notes, such as volunteer hours, on a daily basis as instances occur. Complete the training data form weekly for each participant. Complete the monthly reports in the Participant Goal Book. Clear all disciplinary methods with management before implementing. No threats of disciplinary action will be made without the permission of management. See that there is always a minimum of one-quarter tank of gasoline in assigned vehicle at all times. Clean vehicle interior after each use. When driving an agency vehicle, observe all traffic laws and rules of the road. Record all vehicle maintenance issues on Building Sheet and report them to Program Manager in a timely manner. Complete a weekly check of assigned vehicles; complete Building Log and report findings to Program Manager. Attend all scheduled staff meetings. Supervise crews while on the job site, following established agency personnel policies and using positive behavioral supports consistent with individualized program goals. Assign all crew members to their respective jobs. Supervise the loading, unloading and/or storage of all equipment, making sure that no unnecessary damage occurs. Arrive at the contract sites in a timely manner. Run spot checks of lots or restrooms before the crew begins to determine if there are any unusual situations. This is a working-supervisor position. Incumbents are expected to perform tasks as required by the contract, modeling good work skills to crew members. After the cleaning process, complete a thorough walk-through to check the area and ensure that the customer will have complete satisfaction with the service provided. Ensure that the building that you are leaving is secured, lights are turned off and alarm is set, if applicable. Record all information or complaints from customers in Building Log and report to the Program Manager as soon as possible. Assist in the relief process for all other crews as the need arises and is scheduled by management of ADC. Work approved overtime as assigned. Education and/or Experience Prefer some experience with developmentally-disabled adults. Requires a current driver’s license and clean driving record, high school diploma or equivalent, background check and pre-employment drug screening. Special Requirements Current CPR and first aid certification required. Work conditions may require occasionally lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 20-50 pounds and/or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling 10-20 pounds and/or continuously lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling up to 10 pounds. This position is directly responsible for supporting participants in obtaining and maintaining employment in community settings, including self-employment. Tasks It is an essential job function of all ADC personnel to be able to communicate positively, get along with co-workers, deal with colleagues and the community effectively and professionally, and exemplify the agency’s mission, vision and values in their daily activities. Follow any and all policies and procedures established by the ADC Board of Directors. Meet with program participants as assigned to identify strengths, barriers and support needs regarding employment. Provide orientation to services for new participants and employers. Provide on-the-job support and training in typical business settings to participants and employers as needed. Provide input to other agency staff regarding assigned program participants’ needs and desires. Attend program planning meetings and other staffings for assigned participants to help with development and implementation of individualized service plan. Record case notes daily in IE log book: all employment-related activities and hours worked or volunteered. Respond to participant complaints as needed. Document all medical, physical and behavioral crises that occur with participants that may impede employment goals. Operate personal computer in support of assigned work using a variety of software programs. Complete all paperwork associated with participants’ IPP or DVR plans in a timely manner. Develop work experience opportunities for participants. Develop and maintain a current database of employers, contact information and volunteer sites. Participate in the development of micro-enterprises as needed. Attend all scheduled staff meetings and trainings. Develop weekly work schedule that ensures all required contracted service hours have been provided. Reschedule cancellations to make up contracted service hours as possible. Modify work schedule to accommodate the varied shifts that employers may schedule participants to work, so that the agency can provide the required supported employment services. Prefer one to two years of experience supervising and/or training people with disabilities and some involvement with handicapped persons. Current driver’s license and clean driving record required. Experience and/or education in customer relations, person-centered planning, business development and planning, supported employment services. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of assessment methods and goal planning for developmentally disabled adults. Thorough knowledge of behaviorally and physically challenged workers and relevant motivation and training techniques, including positive behavior support strategies. Ability to professionally respond to concerns and special requests. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, including the development of individualized assessments and goals. Ability to remain composed during stressful situations and emergencies. Ability to operate a networked personal computer and installed software to maintain records, prepare reports and conduct correspondence related to the work. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with community resources and social service personnel. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, potential participants and their families and/or advocates. Ability to maintain confidentiality in participant and agency matters. Special Requirements Current CPR and first aid certifications are required at all times.
